AdventureQuest 3D is set for a fresh start with an early game experience revamp.
Acknowledging the game's evolution, especially newer maps and late-game storylines, the developers over at Artix Entertainment are enhancing the overall progression to ensure a more intentional and seamless player journey. The focus begins with a reconsideration of the tutorial, going off the positive feedback given on the current Death's Lair tutorial, but recognizing issues with the Void attack on Dragon Watch. After live playtesting, the team plans to replace the problematic map with a new one that aligns better with the MMORPG’s general tone and gameplay.
The tutorial's transformation involves introducing a brand new map right after Death's Lair, dedicated to teaching players essential gameplay basics. In this space, they will encounter helpful NPCs guiding them to build the necessary skills before progressing to the city of Battleon. To get the community involved with this development process, there’s a live playtest of the tutorial happening. Players can talk to Twilly in Battleon to join the new map and participate in the quest line, then provide feedback through a survey at the questline's completion.
Also, in addition to the tutorial overhaul, the game introduces new drops in the revamped area — offering players a chance to acquire cosmetic items to enhance their starting adventure. A week-long Gold Boost featuring a 50% bonus on gold from monster kills and quests adds an extra incentive for them, too.
