Exactly a week ago I reported on the delay 5v5 PvP was being slapped with by Ubisoft. The feature was supposed to be a key part of the Season 3 update for Skull and Bones but it needed more work. The team promised more information in the next Producer's Letter, but we still have yet to see that.
As part of Season 3's launch tomorrow, August 22nd, the pirate adventure game will be seeing a Steam release. However, the team announced today that some portions of the original Steam launch plan won't be making it. Both the free trial and full Steam Deck compatibility are being delayed.
Skull and Bones offers a 6 hour free trial via the game's website. The trial lets you roll your progress over into the game should you buy the full version. This trial was slated to be available to Steam players starting tomorrow, but now we have to wait on that. How long? We don't know yet.
If you were hoping to play Skull and Bones on your Steam Deck, you're going to have to wait on that one, too. Also no date, just a "we'll share an update soon."
