Behavior Interactive’s 1 to 4-person PVE shooter set in the world of Dead by Daylight, Project T, has ended before it even had a chance to really begin – or at least before it was given a proper game name. The game’s development was opened to players as an “Insider Program” fairly early in an effort to build the game with their help. Unfortunately, for those who appreciated the project, Behaviour announced today that they have decided to cancel it.
According to the announcement, shared on Twitter, the reason the developer decided to cancel Project T is that an “internal risk assessment from a product and commercial perspective” “yielded unsatisfactory results”. The post notes that some players did seem to appreciate the game, but apparently it just wasn’t enough.

If the comments under the announcement are anything to go by, those who were participating in the Insider Program are disappointed. Many are saying it was “really good” despite being early stages. At least one person notes they wish they’d been able to show it to others.
UPDATE 9/18/2024: Apparently the cancellation of the project has led to the closure of Midwinter Entertainment itself. The news comes from staff laid off as a result of the studio's closure.
UPDATE 2 9/18/2024: Behavior Interactive confirmed the studio closure in a statement to GamesIndustry.biz saying, "All the employees were offered to relocate to our Canadian studios, as we strongly believe in their expertise. Should they decide not to accept, they will be presented with a generous severance package. We want to thank them for all their hard work on Project T and wish them the very best for the future."
