MMOBOMB
Apr 17, 2024
The Elder Scrolls Online team has been struggling a bit this week. Two days ago, on April 15, the developer was forced to take down access to the MMORPG’s PTS after taking it live. Unfortunately, the server also caused problems with the North American live PC server, so they took that down at the same time.
The issue in question was that character saves on the PTS were affecting the live server. This resulted in not only locking the servers but also temporarily locking impacted accounts – at least until they can restore them.
Today, the dev team announced that they are still working to fix the locked accounts and that some will be even unlocked today. Whatever accounts are not unlocked and rolled back today – as all affected accounts are being rolled back to before April 15 – should be taken care of by the end of the week.
In the meantime, the devs are offering a temporary workaround. They’ll be sending players an ESO game code that will allow them to play on a secondary account while they wait for their main accounts to be fixed. They note that this is not intended to be a replacement for player’s main accounts.
Also, as this issue occurred during the Anniversary Jubilee event, the devs will be extending the event by two days to make up for lost time. All PC North American players will also receive an extra 200 Seals of Endeavor.
