For the past year, an investigation has been brewing looking into sexual harassment and assault within the French Ubisoft offices. That investigation has now resulted in the arrest of five former executives at the company, according to a report from the French newspaper Libération (translated by Games Industry).
Three of the individuals were arrested yesterday, while the other two were taken in today. Libération lists two executives – ex-VP of editorial and creative services Tommy François and former chief creative officer Serge Hascoët – who left Ubisoft in 2020, following allegations of abuse, harassment, and discrimination within the company.
Interestingly, it seems later allegations, made in 2021 by the Solidaires Informatique union and two victims are what prompted the investigation. The case is being handled by the public prosecutor’s office is the Bobigny district of Paris.
