Fortnite And Rocket League's Free Arcade Racer Rocket Racing Is Now Live

Fortnite has launched Rocket Racing, a free-to-play supersonic arcade racer developed by Psyonix — the creators of Rocket League. 

Available on all platforms Fortnite is currently active on, the game offers players a dynamic racing environment with 26 tracks, challenging obstacles, and the ability to perform aerial maneuvers. Players can compete in ranked or private races alone or with others, with Season Zero featuring additional modes, tracks, and promises of more updates in 2024 via Season 1.

Rocket Racing can be found within Fortnite’s Discover screen under "By Epic." The game supports controllers, mouse and keyboard, and touch controls for mobile users. (There’s no split-screen though.) 

In terms of gameplay, there’s drifting, flying, turbo boosts, and air dodging. Players can navigate through hazards, take shortcuts, and even attach their rocket-powered cars to walls or ceilings. 

One standout feature is the integration of cross-game ownership, allowing players to use their Rocket League cars in Rocket Racing by equipping them from their Fortnite Locker. This follow's the game's recent removal of player trading. Those who own specific items in Rocket League will automatically have access to them in Fortnite, and vice versa, as long as they use the same Epic Games account, and players can unlock additional Rocket Racing rewards through in-game quests.
