MMOBOMB
Jan 10, 2025
It’s been a while since Fractured Online players have received an update on the MMORPG. Today, they know why as developer Jacopo posted on the Discord channel (reported by MassivelyOP) explaining how things stand at Dynamight. According to the post, the company has been “going through a hard time”, as have the devs. The post goes on to explain that both the release and free-to-play transition of the game didn’t perform as well as they thought it would, effectively because the company lacked a marketing budget and was up against “serious competition”.
As a result, the team has been cut back to the three founders, as of the end of December, more than cutting it in half. Between the three of them, they are covering design, development, and art, but note that the limited team will mean a slower rollout of content.
In addition, none of them are being paid and haven’t been for two years as what money they have made was going to the other team members and now it’s being applied to severs and taxes with a bit for the devs themselves.
The group is still trying to find additional sources of investment for Dynamight, but notes that it’s difficult since the gaming industry isn’t in the best spot as a whole. It seems players can expect some content in the future, but they should probably not expect a lot quickly.
