Battlefield, like almost any other "annual" release game, has had quite a few ups and downs throughout the years. Hell, even Battlefield 2024 itself has had a bit of back and forth reception-wise since the shooter's 2021 release.
With four teams combining under one "Battlefield Studios" umbrella, DICE, Ripple Effect, Motive, and Criterion are all handling development of different parts of the next release. However, they've decided they need the community's assistance to iterate, test, and develop everything from the single player campaign, to the multiplayer maps, weapons, and more. They call their new initiative "Battlefield Labs" and they think it's the "most ambitious community collaboration in franchise history."
How can you help? Well, the team would love you to sign up for "Battlefield Labs" and take part in testing over the next few weeks as Battlefield enters a "critical phase in development," pre-alpha.
“I’ve been playing Battlefield long before I joined the team,” says Vince Zampella, Head of Respawn & Group GM for EA Studios Organization. “This game has so much potential. To find that potential, with us being pre-alpha, now is the time to test the experiences our teams have been building for our upcoming launch. Battlefield Labs empowers our teams to do that."
