The 2024 League Championship Series season is gearing up for its January 20-21 weekend event.
Spring Split features revamped rosters from teams like NRG, Cloud9, Team Liquid, and newcomer Shopify Rebellion. Its competitive format includes an eight-team double round-robin regular season, followed by a six-team postseason with a double-elimination format for the top four seeds. Matches during the regular season will be best-of-one, transitioning to best-of-five for the playoffs.
Also, live patch play is introduced to establish a direct connection between pro play and the wider League of Legends community. All LCS regular season matches will be played on the live game patch, allowing fans to immediately incorporate professional picks and strategies into their own games.
Regular season drafts will be pre-recorded, enabling a smoother transition between the MOBA's matches and freeing up resources for match-focused content. There’s also fan voting, chat highlights, post-draft lane selection, and player interview voting. Additionally, the LCS has plans for regular updates, AMAs, blog posts, and videos.
The schedule includes six weeks of regular season play, a two-week break between Weeks 4-5, and playoffs from March 14 to 31, culminating in the Spring Finals. Matches can be watched on Twitch, YouTube, and lolesports.com, and fans can stay updated on LCS social media via Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok.
