Marvel Rivals’ closed alpha test begins this Friday, May 10. As it turns out, a lot of people have signed up for this test – more than 100,000 people. As you’d expect of any alpha test, there’s not enough room for everyone in the team shooter, but the devs promise ways for players to join in in the future.
That said, there is one way players who didn’t get an invite this time can still get in and play during this test period. That’s to have a friend who did get invited. Just make sure they plan on actually playing during the test because they have to meet certain milestones in order to get invite codes. Plus, codes will be given out via the Content Creator program and certain livestreams, so all hope is not lost.
In addition to the friend invite codes, NetEase also announced the Dawn of Legends tournament. This 6v6 tournament will take place during the closed alpha test. As only testers can participate, signups won’t open until May 10. Players can sign up for the tournament until May 13. Then, from May 14 – 16, the open qualifiers will take place. After that, a knockout stage will run from May 17-19. The whole thing will be streamed on Twitch.
If you’re wondering what modes you’ll be playing during the test period, there will be five: Tutorial, Quick Match, Pocket Universe, Custom, and Competitive. Details on these, the tournament, and ways to get keys are available on the Marvel Rivals site.
