Director Jaewoo Seo and the KartRider: Drift team have responded to player feedback following the recent RISE update.
In a blog post, the developers addressed concerns and expressed commitment to improving the overall experience of the racing game. One key area of focus is the Ranked Queue, where the use of Auto-Steering has affected gameplay balance. To mitigate this, the team plans to adjust point systems to reduce the burden of requirements for advancement, alongside other improvements to ensure fairness and enjoyment in races.
Additionally, measures such as providing alternative ways to gain proficiency and fixing issues like the win streak bonus not applying are underway.
Another feature being looked into is the balance of character skills introduced in the update. They’re going to increase the value of less popular characters through buffs rather than nerfs. By analyzing data on skill usage, the developers plan to refine character skills progressively — with updates to be implemented gradually over time.
Also, improvements are planned for the chat system and matching stage. Chat functionality will be expanded while sequences from post-race to matchmaking are reviewed.
Last but not least, UI/UX enhancements and the introduction of new tracks are on the horizon, with a themed update slated for March to introduce ten new tracks.
