If you’re looking for something new to do this weekend and strategy games are your thing, we have news you might be interested in. On Friday, December 22, NetEase will be launching the free-to-play strategy game Infinite Borders on Steam. The game has been available on Android and iOS devices in East Asia for a while and is a popular mobile offering. Whether or not that will translate for the Western PC audience remains to be seen.
Set in the Three Kingdoms era, Infinite Borders has players recruiting generals to lead their armies. The game is designed to be historically accurate with NetEase enlisting history professors to assist in the game’s development.
Players form teams of generals and compete against each other. Players who win a battle can take up leadership roles, create laws, and more. In addition to building an army, they’ll also be building an estate.
The game features a 2.25 million grid field, realistic weather that impacts battles, more than 300 recruitable generals, and more. It also promises no pay-to-win mechanics, with NetEase saying that players must play smart, use sound strategies, and form alliances to win.
In honor of the game’s launch, a “Steam Launch Celebration” event will be held in game beginning December 22. During the event, which ends on December 31, players can win prizes via Social Media as well.
