On May 10, Creative Director Steven Sharif joined with content creators Vladis, Jamie Chaos, and Sunny from Lore Forge for an AMA session. It covered node systems, PvP mechanics, and crafting flexibility in the MMORPG.
On node management, they brought up the environmental consequences, particularly the impact of over-harvesting resources and the mechanisms available for node citizens to counteract intentional resource depletion by non-combatants. Node types include economic and non-economic ones, each potentially offering different services and facilities based on their development level.
As for PvP, natural friction and competition arises in open-world environments due to resource scarcity. This includes scenarios where different groups may clash over hunting areas, leading to conflict and player interaction. Details were shared about PvP rewards and consequences, such as stat dampening through death debuffs, which affect the ability of losing parties to interrupt opponents.
Lastly, crafting; there's a focus on grandmaster crafting stations being vital resources located within specific node tiers, with access limited to node citizens. This setup potentially binds crafters to specific node types, affecting their crafting capabilities. There’s flexibility of the crafting system too, particularly whether crafters can utilize skill tree progression to specialize in certain crafting types or if they're limited by their home node's grandmaster stations.
