Yesterday, Grinding Gear Games pushed an update making several improvements to the F2P action RPG, Path of Exile 2. These improvements address several issues in the game, such as respeccing Ascendancy Classes. In this case, players may now respec the Ascendancy Class of their choice, provided the Trial will grant them the number of points they have when choosing to do so. The devs have also adjusted which trials can be attempted at specific levels.
Other changes in this patch include adding implicit modifiers with 1-2 Charm slots to Belts, adding Stash Tab Affinities for certain items, introducing the ability to bookmark locations in the atlas, crafting changes, and more. In fact, there are quite a few changes listed for a patch that took about 15 minutes to complete, and that’s before you get to the bug fix list. Those interested in the full rundown can find the patch notes on the Path of Exile site.
That said, one change was notable enough that the dev team elected to make a separate post about it. After discovering that the Xbox game share feature was allowing bots to access the PoE 2 client on the console, the GGG team has made a change that requires Xbox accounts to have purchased Early Access in order to play on the system. Obviously, the devs didn’t intend for players to use the client on different accounts if they hadn’t bought early access.
That said, the change did result in some legitimate players losing access to the game. That issue has been fixed. If you were one of those unlucky players, you should be able to log in now.
