RuneScape's Necromancy Season Continues With Today's "Ancient Awakening" Update

Raise the roof, and the dead.

RuneScape's Necromancy season continues with the "Ancient Awakening'' update, which goes live in the MMORPG today. Players will dive deeper into the lore of the Necromancy skill by visiting the secretive island of Ungael. They embark on a quest alongside other adventurers who aim to thwart a powerful ritual led by the necromancer Zemouregal — a significant threat to the world of Gielinor. The quest also sets the stage for an upcoming boss battle scheduled for November.

In addition to the quest, this update introduces a new player-vs-monster combat activity within the Ungael Arena. Players get to test their necromantic combat skills against waves of Zemouregal's minions. And completing these encounters unlocks titles, weapon cosmetics, and the Raptor's outfit. 

There’s also something for those interested in skills. Ancient Awakening expands the Fort Forinthry area with a Botanist's Bench, aiding in the preparation of Necromancy potions for the forthcoming boss fight. Players can also engage with Granny Rowan for potion decanting.
