Rust Celebrates Halloween With Candy Hunts, Monster Building, And More

It’s officially spooky season in Rust and that means it's time for survival game shenanigans. Specifically, players will be collecting candy, building their own pet monster, traveling through questionable portals, and earning goodies...or buying some. There’s always an option to buy.

Every so often – about every two days, give or take – players will be able to take part in a candy hunt. During the hunt, they have three minutes to collect all the candy they can. The three players who collect the most will receive special loot bags as a reward. Both the candies and the loot bags can be opened for loot.

While this is going on, players will also want to be putting down scarecrows and mummies they’ll find wandering about, but they can’t just kill them. This time they’re going to want to collect those leftover body parts. I know it sounds nefarious, but there’s a reason. Once they have enough parts, players will be building Frankenstein’s table and using the body parts to build their own pet monster, one that will follow them around and help them in battle.

As for the rifts, portals are being opened across the world. No one knows what they’re for or what they do, but if someone’s feeling brave, they can hop in and explore them. Full details on the event and sales can be found on the Rust Steam page.
