MMOBOMB
Apr 06, 2024
It seems Blizzard fans may have something new to look forward to in the future. About ten new job listings for a “Unannounced Game” by Blizzard Entertainment have appeared on Hitmaker, a site used by different companies to list openings. Among these are several senior positions requiring five or more years experience, but there are lower-level positions as well. The roster includes everything from Creative, Design, and Art Directors to designers and concept artists.
As it is obviously very early stages, there’s no way to tell what kind of game Blizzard is looking to make here. It could be anything from a single-player franchise to another MMO. Anything’s possible at this point. As VG247 points out, Xbox boss, Phil Spencer has expressed before that he’d like to see the company bring back some of their legacy works. We currently don't have any fun keywords to go by in the postings like "multiplayer" or "established IP" to make any guesses.
Whatever the company has planned, it’ll be interesting to find out when the time comes. Another thing that would be interesting to find out about is if this project was already in the works before their last batch of layoffs, and if it actually saved anyone from being included in them.
