MMOBOMB
Nov 28, 2024
In everything we've seen from Stars Reach so far, the MMORPG's team has been very focused on the things you can change. Whether that's skills, terraforming a planet, or exploring new locales, you're always on the move. Most current testing has focused on the same.
Now it's time to actually get down to some details about building. Specifically, Playable Worlds is chatting about making your own Homesteads out in the universe, and this isn't just some down and dirty player housing.
Hoping to make the feature available in testing scheduled for early December, the team says you'll finally get to start creating a place of your own. Want to build a small house on a planet you like? Cool. How about something a bit grander, maybe a home with a store you manage? Yep, that's an option. Maybe you hate planets all together and would rather live in the vastness of space on a space station? Sure, why not. Have you been up to no good and need a hideaway in the middle of an asteroid? Dig in, friend, it's yours.
Of course, all of these different building options are going to require different skills. Maybe you'll need Civil Engineering skills to build tech-heavy items. Forestry seems like a good choice when building in the woods. You get the idea.
Homesteads can be expanded and added to any way you like, and these facilities can serve multiple purposes, they don't have to just be a place to chill. Friends can help you build and you can put down roots in multiple locations if you've earned the right to place multiple homesteads. That said, it won't exactly be easy to move existing things, at least at first. Choose carefully in testing.
The team is working on other Homestead features like seasons and making creatures smarter (and maybe more able to get through your Homestead's defenses), but those may not be in this initial update.
Again, another look that I dig, now let's get in there and mess with it!
