It’s June, and while it’s not officially summer yet by calendar standards, it’s close enough. Of course, Geoff Keighley got out there on stage, brought some game developers with him, and showed off a bunch of game trailers at Summer Game Fest. Not all of them are multiplayer, but some are. While the stream is still going, it’s worth taking time out to note that Quidditch fans are getting a game. This isn’t a bit of Quidditch in a general Harry Potter game. This is all Quidditch, all the time.
Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is built around Hogwarts’ favorite competitive sport. It can be played solo but also includes online co-op and PvP. Developed by Unbroken Studios, it’s a complete, standalone game and doesn’t require any other Harry Potter game to play, so yes, the game you’ve been waiting for is finally coming. It will also skip microtransactions, but will require an internet connection all the time.
The magical sports game will be available to play on PlayStations 4 & 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. It launches on September 3 of this year.
