This week in Destiny 2, we’re talking about the Festival of the Lost, an update from the PvP strike team, Checkmate tuning changes, Matchmaking changes in Crucible Control, and spawn tweaks.
The Festival of the Lost is approaching. This year, players can expect new features. One is the Legend Haunted Sectors, which promises more rewarding experiences and better loot drops. This event also brings Eerie Engrams — a new type of engram that players can either open individually for treats or use as currency for Hocus Focusing. Eerie Engrams can be obtained by completing Haunted Sectors, with Legend Haunted Sectors offering higher drop rates.
Hocus Focusing, offered by Eva Levante, enables players to acquire Exotic armor with four focusing categories and Legendary Weapons Eerie Engram focusing. Players can choose from a variety of Exotic armor pieces, and their class will determine the drops during Hocus Focusing. This feature allows players to obtain Exotic armor even if they haven't acquired it previously.
Additionally, the Festival of the Lost introduces a new Memento, which is a random drop obtained from Eerie Engrams.
As for PvP updates, the Checkmate modifier is being fine-tuned in Crucible Labs with plans for iterative changes, and matchmaking improvements are aimed at reducing wait times. The issue of spawning is also being addressed with targeted changes, primarily on the Altar of Flame and Cauldron maps. Future updates in the next season include Crucible playlist reorganization, Competitive Crucible changes, Trials rewards adjustments, and more Checkmate modes.
