Developer Remedy announced today that the project known as Codename Condor, otherwise known as the Control multiplayer live-service game, has begun full production "meaning it has reached the final development stage before a game is launched”. The game will have a fixed price instead of being free-to-play and will be Remedy's first dive into the live-service pool.
“Based on wide internal playtests, we can see that the core loop is engaging, and the game brings a unique Remedy angle to the genre,” Remedy stated during the announcement.
The Control multiplayer game is being developed for PC, PS5 and Xbox X|S on the in-house Northlight game engine.
Perhaps not so coincidentally, Tencent also increased its stake in Remedy today from 5.01% to 14.8%. Tencent has partnered with Remedy to publish another project currently titled "Project Kestrel."
“The Control franchise is larger than one story, or one character,” the developer said. “With Codename Condor, we invite players on a collective journey into the depths of the Oldest House.
“Within, they’ll face overwhelming enemies and obstacles, but by relying on their gear and each other, they will have a chance for survival.”
