Things are not going well following the launch of Fntastic’s The Day Before. Since the game entered early access on Steam, it’s been plagued with complaints from players regarding not just bugs, but also that the game has nothing it promised. On Steam, the game has racked up over 13,000 reviews – only 16% of which are positive.
According to a report on VG247, player complaints include the game not having all of the promised elements – even saying that there are “barely any zombies” and “no survival mechanics”. Apparently, there is a lot of looting of abandoned cars. And if you expected to explore a lot of the buildings, maybe you shouldn’t. Of course, there are lag spikes and bugs as well.
Not surprisingly, players have been taking their complaints to the game’s Discord server, and the mods are not having a very good time. As a result, the mods locked the server citing “overwhelming toxicity” that they “cannot manage effectively”. The mods also pointed out that the toxicity prevents them from sharing the reports with the devs.
According to PCGamesN, the mods went so far as to suggest unhappy players ask for a refund telling them to “either follow the Steam Refund Policy or patiently [await] improvements." Considering the number of people who bought the game at $40, that's a good bit of money to lose should they decide to take that option.
