Ultima Online’s New Legacy Shard Offers A New Way To Experience The Story Over The Course Of A Year

Recently, Broadsword announced the Ultima Online New Legacy custom ruleset shard, designed to allow players, both new and old, to experience the long-running MMORPG’s story in a new way. Players can begin their journey on that shard starting today. They’ll need to patch their existing clients before doing so.

The New Legacy shard offers players reworked gameplay focused around the roots of the game as an RPG. The shard will run for a year, ending in October of 2025 when a special narrative event, “The Shattering”, brings everything to an end. Once the shard closes, players will be able to transfer to a server of their choice, excluding Siege Perilous or Mugen.
