Is it ok to steal if lives hang in the balance? Is it ok to defy orders if those orders put others in danger or if your squad could still be saved by disobeying? You wouldn't exactly expect a PvPvE mech combat game to be lore heavy or dilemma heavy, but Steel Hunters seems to be going there. Wargaming dropped the first "Hunter Stories" trailer today giving us a bit of insight into "Razorside," a seriously giant mech ready to do the bidding of Starfall, despite having previously fought against them.
Razorside was formerly US Marine Jason Miller Jr and his loyalty to his squad was unwavering. It eventually led this "All-American Hero" to forsake some of his duties to save his friends...including Dr. Gabriel, the very person helping to erase his memories and ensure his loyalty to Starfall. Miller won't remember fighting against Starfall and raiding their medical stores to gather supplies for those being left behind after the apocalyptic events of Mayday Omega.
In fact, his loyalty to their safety is the single point of leverage Starfall ended up using to get him to comply.
Does Miller actually remember, though? What will happen to Dr. Gabriel? We'll have to wait for the next trailer. In the meantime, you can wish list Steel Hunters on Steam and sign up for future playtests.
