MMOBOMB
Jan 10, 2025
If you're a player of standard "Live" Aion, sorry, I don't have much news for you today. The Live version of the MMORPG really just sees recurring events and new Daeva Season Passes at the moment. I guess Live players will just have to continue waiting on that possible Aion 2 NCSoft has been talking about for years and brought up once again on an earnings call last year. We'll see if the second half of 2025 sees the launch their targeting.
Aion Classic players in EU get all the news today with the release of a new roadmap and even a video walking you through the highlights planned for 2025. I don't know when I last saw a promotional video for Aion Live.
According to Gameforge's new video, the game's wildcard event will receive some changes based on player feedback when it returns. This is that PvP mode that allows you to choose an ability from another class to shake things up. PvP fans will also see the return of the Deathbringer event.
While it's being touted in the team's press materials as a way to keep the "fun optimized", Atreia and Tahabata servers will be merged into one server population. We all know what that really means, though. Right after the merge, Aion Classic EU will run a class change event where you can swap to a different class permanently if you like.
The big content news is the confirmation of update 3.7 coming to the servers sometime in the first half of the year. The update will bring two new dungeons, new items, and a few quality of life improvements.
Get some chat from the team on each item in the second video below, including some chat about the Classic version's upcoming 2nd anniversary.
