Today, Wargaming dropped update 13.9, Red October, in its war-themed strategy game, World of Warships. Red October introduces an updated version of Mode Shuffle, the dynamic battle type that randomly selects game modes for players. It also introduces a German-themed event pass in which players can earn the German Navy permanent camouflage for Prinz Heinrich, the German Eagle permanent camouflage for Prinz Rupprecht, and other goodies. Of course, there’s more for those who unlock the second progression line using 2,500 Doubloons – including a tier VI destroyer.
The Red October update also kicks off a Bounty Hunt event by the same name. Players can choose to be the bounty or the hunter. Both will receive rewards and earn the Red Token currency. The event will be tracking player progress on a leaderboard and reward players based on their ranking. The top ten players on the leaderboard will receive a tier VIII submarine, the S-189.
Another event added during this update celebrates the 80th anniversary of the largest naval encounter during World War II. Players can take part in an interactive adventure to learn the history of the battle and earn Leyte Gulf containers and Leyte tokens. The tokens can be exchanged for containers guaranteed to drop tier VI-IX premium ships among other things.
