MMOBOMB
Oct 14, 2024
With their October 28th release date for the Horizons update just a few weeks away, Albion Online has already started dropping details on all the additions you'll see make their way into the MMORPG. We've already covered their last Dev Talk video, and you should check that out if you want to see how the team at Sandbox Interactive plans to make the world more "unpredictable."
In a follow-up Dev Talk video released today, we get to see the "other" side of the Horizons update: the quality-of-life features. Honestly, there's probably an audience that will find these updates to be the the best thing about Horizons. I know Jason Winter would appreciate the love your inventory bag and bank are getting.
Bags will allow you to collapse your view into a more compact pane. You can also control the display size of inventory icons and can even order your bag by a few options...including weight. That'll make it easier to see what's slowing you down.
On the bank side of things, you'll be able to quickly move all items to your bank, another bank tab, or back to your bag. You can also "repair all" in your bank.
Presets will be able to be saved and even bound to a key. This should allow you to swap between presets depending on what you're doing.
The largest improvement, though, is probably the HUD changes. You'll FINALLY be able to modify, move, and scale most of your UI elements. The HUD editor works on both PC and mobile clients and opens up the ability to change position, size, and opacity of HUD items. Layouts can be saved and presets allow quick swapping. You can also export and import HUD layouts from others.
Check it all out in action in the video below. The next video planned will talk about Albion's new Journal categories.
