MMOBOMB
Jun 26, 2024
Up until now, SMITE 2's testing has been limited to those that purchase the MOBA's founder's pack, and even then it is limited to certain weekends. The next weekend test actually kicks off this coming weekend. As for some "longer term" testing, well, it seems like that's actually just around the corner.
Titan Forge Games has announced that 24/7 alpha testing will start next month on August 27th. This next step is actually coming a little later than originally intended specifically to address feedback players have given in previous tests. If the date still seems rather quick to you, the team dropped a new FAQ on the testing explaining why. It really comes down to the team saying they want your feedback, and as much of it as possible, to help develop the sequel. This includes improvements already coming like better controller support, the game feeling slower in many places, challenges with the Active Item system, and more.
The team will continue to pass out keys via signups on their site for the alpha, but if you are ok with waiting, expect many more keys to start going out later this year for closed beta, and an open beta sometime in 2025 where anyone will be able to check out the F2P game's progress.
More information can be found in the 24/7 Closed Alpha FAQ. I've also included some info on those Active Item system changes I mentioned above under the Closed Alpha announcement video below.
