I did not see the Dead by Daylight and Disney collaboration coming.
In a recent interview with Game Rant, Behaviour Interactive discussed their partnership to introduce the Xenomorph and Ellen Ripley from the Alien franchise into the game's 29th DLC chapter. They saw the Xenomorph especially as a classic horror character deserving of a place in Dead by Daylight. The collaboration with Disney was a dream come true, and described as highly collaborative and supportive — with the company embracing the team's ideas.
The addition of the Xenomorph as a killer also brought unique gameplay elements to Dead by Daylight. Behaviour Interactive said they aimed to strike a balance between accessibility for new players and depth for experienced ones. As for Ellen Ripley, the introduction of remote flame turrets and steam pipes added strategic depth to the game. And the Nostromo map is filled with Easter eggs and references from the Alien franchise.
Regarding future plans for the game, the developers remained tight-lipped about potential new characters or DLC chapters, teasing that there might be more surprises in store for players.
