Destiny 2 Launches First Of Three Episodes For The Final Shape

Today, Bungie is launching "Echoes", the first of the three episodes that will come out during the year of Destiny 2: The Final Shape. This first episode deals with the aftermath of the shooter's Light and Darkness saga, as Guardians must deal with a power called Echoes that was flung across the system following the defeat of the Witness. Players must discover the meaning of the Echoes and travel to Nessus as well as face the growing army of Vex and a new enemy.

Each of the three episodes released this year will be rolled out over three acts each. Each act will take place over a period of about six weeks, meaning Act 2 of Echoes will launch on July 16 and Act 3 on August 27. In addition to the new story content, Echoes will also introduce new weapons and armor, as well as seasonal content.

Echoes will be followed by Revenant and Heresy. Revenant focuses on the Fallen and features dark fantasy and horror themes. Heresy deals with the Hive pantheon, bringing players back to the Dreadnaught.
