When it comes to action RPG games, Grinding Gear Games’ Path of Exile is one of the biggest right now. The multiplayer game has featured multiple updates and its sequel isn’t as far off now, but fans of the genre know that it’s been kicking around in one form or another for decades, with offerings like Blizzard's Diablo franchise and the Torchlight games, among others.
While not entirely something you’d expect at a conference dedicated to games made by a specific company, it’s still very appropriate that an action RPG roundtable was held at this year’s ExileCon. Developers from across the gaming industry were invited to participate. Most of the names, you’ll likely recognize. Participants included David Brevik, Max Schaefer, Erich Schaefer, Travis Baldree, Chris Wilson, and Erik Olofsson.
The panel was hosted by Kripparrian and, as noted, lasted about an hour. As stated at the beginning of the panel, they could have easily spent more time just talking about ARPGs. But, a convention is a convention. You can’t spend the entire time in one panel.
