Naoki Yoshida, the producer & director of Final Fantasy XIV, says Happy New Year.
In a letter to the players, he extended greetings and shared insights into the current state of the MMORPG and future plans. Yoshida expressed excitement for the upcoming Fan Festival 2024 in Tokyo, emphasizing its significance with the mention of "7.0" — hinting at new developments for the game. The Fan Festival will be streamed globally, too.
Reflecting on the game's 10th-anniversary celebration, he discussed the commitment to the next decade of service for Final Fantasy XIV. Yoshida stressed the importance of communication and collaboration with the worldwide player base, acknowledging the shared journey with all Warriors of Light. As the saga of Hydaelyn and Zodiark concluded, he teased new tales of adventure lying to the west.
With Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail coming soon, a major graphic development overhaul spanning a decade will be included in that update, as well. The team aims for steady improvements in both development and operational processes in order to ensure a seamless experience for players. Yoshida concluded with gratitude for the ongoing support from the community.
Also worth mentioning, although there isn't any real "news" in it, is a translation of some of YoshiP's question answers from his recent visit to the Chocobo JP server. Topics include hats for Viera and Hrothgar, jumping puzzles, more "big field" content like Bozja, more inventory spaces, and why YoshiP won't be singing anytime soon.
