Here are the results of the World Restructuring beta event ArenaNet held in Guild Wars 2, aiming to gather data and feedback to improve the system.
Despite encountering some issues such as team placement errors and queue problems, ArenaNet said valuable insights were received. The developers addressed these issues, including errors during the EU reset and analytics tracking errors related to guild selection. Also, they identified cases affecting inactive WvW guilds and players who transferred worlds between regions, with the intention of finding solutions to ensure players are appropriately sorted into teams.
The beta yielded feedback regarding matchup balance, communication barriers due to language differences, and concerns about the loss of server communities. While improvements are underway to address these issues, the team also acknowledges the persistence of queue problems and their impact on player experience, including an increase in AFK players. The beta showcased positive trends too, such as increased commander activity and engagement.
ArenaNet plans to enhance the MMORPG's UI and API features to provide players with better information and functionality. The developers are trying to alleviate player frustrations by adding a sixth guild slot and streamlining region transfers as well. The top priority remains investigating and resolving the "Map Is Full" error before considering full-time implementation of World Restructuring.
