MMOBOMB
Oct 27, 2024
From a fan's perspective, there is a little bit of "sad" in today's news. We've known that Blizzard was not going to be holding a Blizzcon event this year since April. That seemed sad given that 2024 represented some big anniversaries for the company. World of Warcraft was turning 20 years old, and has already started celebrating in the latest patch, and Warcraft itself is turning 30 years old.
It just seemed like THE year to hold a Blizzcon.
As a "replacement" option, Blizzard will be hosting a "Warcraft 30th Anniversary Direct" stream on November 13th at 10 AM PST. You can catch the stream on YouTube, Twitch, or TikTok.
We literally have no clue what the team will be talking about or revealing, if anything, since the official announcement is very light on details. While MMORPG World of Warcraft, Warcraft Rumble, and Warcraft: Orcs and Humans all get a mention, no details on anything "new" are revealed. The post does, however, mention not wanting to miss a "single surprise.," so it's likely there are at least SOME new bits dropping at the show.
After the show, a recording of a World of Warcraft: 20 Years of Music will be shown. The concert was recorded in Switzerland by 21st Century Orchestra and three choirs.
Viewers will be eligible for rewards in World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, and Warcraft Rumble for watching (probably Drops), but again, we'll have to wait on more details regarding these items and how they will be obtained.
