Another change has been implemented following Embracer Group’s sale of Gearbox to Take Two. As you might recall, when Embracer first began consolidating all the companies they bought, they placed Cryptic and some others under the Gearbox Publishing San Francisco umbrella.
Now that Gearbox proper is no longer part of Embracer’s portfolio, several of the games that fell under them – such as MMORPGs like Neverwinter and Star Trek Online – still are and they’ve had to rebrand since the names go with Gearbox. What was "Gearbox Publishing San Francisco" is now Arc Games, which…is where Neverwinter and Star Trek Online were under anyway. Honestly, it’s a bit more like they just dropped one of the names since Gearbox was taking the "Gearbox Publishing" name with them to Take Two.
Also included under the Arc Games umbrella is the re-release of Gigantic, Gigantic: Rampage Edition. The Gigantic: R.E. team shared the news today on Twitter. At the same time, they teased news for Hyper Light Breaker and promised a trailer during the III Initiative showcase on April 10.
