MMOBOMB
Apr 25, 2024
Genfanad was an ambitious game trying to combine parts of a deckbuilding TCG with an MMORPG. Ultimately it just didn't work out as today developer Rose-Tinted Games announced on Twitter that they are stopping production of Genfanad.

The message in the post goes on to thank the community for their support of the game, but ultimately it sounds like funding ran out and the game could not be converted into something feasible given the time and money that was left.
Interestingly, they say that their Kickstarter generated much less success than initially hoped, which is funny seeing how it nearly doubled the funding goal they set. Let this be a lesson in setting realistic funding goals instead of lowballing and grabbing whatever cash you can. Not that anyone on Kickstarter is going to learn a lesson from this seeing as how they all set lowball goals and then hope for the millions they need to actually fund their projects.
The Genfanad team will be pulling down the Patreon and Steam pages soon, and the beta servers will go offline on April 30th.
