Back in 2022, Nexon hosted a Steam Beta Test for the upcoming shooter The First Descendant. When that test was over and the feedback was tallied, they realized the game’s UI was scoring well below where they wanted it. Player ratings averaged out to a satisfaction score of 3 out of 5 points.
Considering how important the UI is to the overall game experience, it’s obviously important for Nexon to fix this, so they got to work on it. however, when the Crossplay Open Beta Test rolled around they were still receiving a lot of UI-related feedback.
Today, the devs shared a post detailing the work that’s being done on the developer’s UI/UX. Among these are adding a highly requested feature, ‘Loadout’ – which deals with Module Loadout, Weapon Module Loadout, and Integrated Presets. It allows players to prepare their Module settings ahead of time and save them.
The UI isn’t the only thing being improved. The post also highlights changes to the game’s core menu system. The main menu has been divided more to account for features added to the game. In inventory menus, functions related to the characters and equipment are integrated. Map-related menus feature new items like journals, achievements, and a library.
Other changes currently being worked on are equipment info and content reward info improvements. Details on each of these as well as a sizeable FAQ can be found in the post on The First Descendant site.
