If you played in The First Descendant’s last crossplay open beta test and had feedback on co-op play and fields being too empty, the good news is the devs have heard your complaints and are working to fix it.
In a blog post on the shooter’s site, the team addressed both these topics outlining plans to improve both. As they note, co-op play has a few problems, one of which is the size of the fields. Another issue involves the number of players. They’ve considered adjusting this, but are waiting for now. Instead, they’ll be addressing the size of the field.
As for fields themselves, players felt they were too static with nothing to do if a player wasn’t engaged in a mission. To address this, the team will be improving missions and adding more content to the fields. They’ll provide details on that at a later date.
Beyond addressing the issues pointed out during the test, the post also outlines new content the dev team is working on. This includes out-of-combat content called the “Encrypted Vault”. These are located throughout the field and contain information from the Magisters. They can be decrypted using a mini-game in order to earn rewards.
Another bit of new content will include using Void Fragments and Void Fusion Reactors located throughout fields to summon a Vulgus Commander – a secret monster that will provide players with a special reward when dropped.
There are even more additions being worked on in order to offer players more things to do. The full rundown is available on The First Descendant site.
