Phasmophobia's Halloween Event And New Update Are Both Now Live

Okay, but Halloween in a game like Phasmophobia just feels redundant, right?

Nonetheless, the psychological horror game's Halloween Event and Update v0.9.1.0 are both here. Players can go ahead and obtain the spooky ID-card badge and trophy. This event will last for approximately two weeks.

As for new players, the Maple and Prison maps are temporarily unlocked at level 1 to facilitate event participation. The Maple Lodge Campsite has undergone a complete layout revamp, including new buildings, campsite areas, assets, hiding spots, and improved performance. Additionally, new rain sounds have been added in both campsites when inside tents, toilet blocks, or under tarps.

The horror game's update also includes the introduction of Temporal Anti-Aliasing as an option, providing a higher quality anti-aliasing method than FXAA and SMAA but lower quality than MSAA. The EULA has been updated too, and several icons have been replaced across the main menu and contract selection screens. 

Some gameplay changes include the inability to light objects using the 'Interact' button, improved performance in the truck with the CCTV monitor, and various bug fixes, such as correct textures for the Monkey Paw and consistent photo capture with the Crucifix T2.

However, despite these improvements, there are some known issues that persist. For example, incorrect in-game version numbering, terrain issues in Sunny Meadows, and occasional inaccuracies with ghost footstep sounds in Maple Campsite. Furthermore, the bear trap interaction photo does not function as expected. Fear not though, the development team over at Kinetic Games is aware.
