Destiny 2 is getting some changes to make PvP more exciting for players. Existing content is getting some quality-of-life updates, specifically in the area of map spawning. The devs have already dropped a quality-of-life pass tweaking the spawn traps for Altar of Flame, Cauldron, Endless Vale, Midtown, and Meltdown.
That’s just the start, as when Update 7.3.5 drops on March 5, it will bring spawn tweaks for other maps. Eternity and Fortress will see changes to spawn traps while The Citadel, Cathedral of Dusk, Disjunction, and Convergence will have all backfield spans for non-Rift modes removed. This is intended to make the shooter's maps play smaller and reduce the amount of time spent running back from respawning. Locations will also be changed for initial spawning, the Heavy ammo crate, and tiebreaker zones.
There’s another big change coming as well, although players will have to wait a bit longer for it. In May, three new maps will be added to Crucible. These are Eventide Labs (Europa), Cirrus Plaza (Neomuna), Dissonance (Terraformed Pyriamid Ship).
The details on the upcoming changes are part of the latest This Week in Destiny, where the devs also detail new PvP rewards players can expect. The post also addresses changes coming to competitive modes and updates to sandbox.
