MMOBOMB
Apr 18, 2025
When I do First Look videos, streams, or other recording on the site, the games in question usually stay installed for a bit afterwards. Even when I know a game isn't for me when it comes to my personal time, I like to keep them on my PC for a few reasons. Maybe I'll see something new shortly after recording that I want to be able to capture and do an edit on a video. Maybe I see a little something in the F2P world that my kids may enjoy and I'll try it with them. Maybe I'll be talking about it on a podcast or another writer/host wants to check it out and have a friend there.
My point here is that they don't usually get uninstalled right away.
However, there is one F2P MMORPG that was so awful (in my opinion) that it was literally uninstalled before the First Look video was fully uploaded to YouTube.
Now, I knew going into the video that I wasn't going to care for this particular title. Obviously, people know what they like and this wasn't going to be something I liked. It was a fantasy setting, had quests, PvE, and all of that, but I knew I would hate it. Why? Well, it had one HUGE strike against it right from the start with the inclusion of an "auto hunting" feature.
You know the feature. It's the one that you can literally turn on to have your character basically level themselves while you go do anything other than play the damn game. I get why some games may consider this feature and I get why some players may even enjoy them. Auto-battlers are a genre of their own these days.
However, this one was particularly egregious. Not only could you set your character up to experience farm, but you could literally have it do quests for you. You could literally have the game skip every bit of "story" the devs decided to craft for their world. I couldn't imagine why this would be the case.
Then I played it for the video.
Good grief. V4 Global was so damn bad. It tried to capitalize on the whole "sexy girls" thing League of Angels does, but it also wanted to be taken somewhat seriously as an MMORPG. It failed on both counts. My abilities didn't matter, I never read a damn thing, the camera was always JUST panned down a bit so that a female NPC's face was not the focus of the camera, and yes, the "auto" tool really did its job well.
I tried to take my job seriously and the First Look video ended up being about 12 minutes long. However, if you've ever seen it, you know I basically lost my mind about halfway through because I couldn't take it anymore. The video went off the rails, and it deserved it. That's not to mention the fact that the animations looked straight ripped from other games.
This was 100% mobile trash just ported over to PC for the cash. I mean, look at one of NEXON's totally awesome and high quality sites for it. The game really just wanted to sell you sexy costumes, some of which were nicely designed, I'll give it that much.
In thinking about the game, I actually started searching to see if it's still around. Apparently, it is! It looks like the PC version closed just last year. The mobile version, however, has some type of event countdown going right now. Look, I'm not going to pretend it is the absolute worst thing on mobile. It's far from that. That said, I am amazed it is still making enough income to actually survive at all.
Is it the absolute WORST MMO I have ever played? I don't think so, but I'll think on that a bit more, maybe for a piece next week. However, it will likely always hold the record for my fastest uninstall. I did rather enjoy making the First Look, though!
What MMORPG didn't make the cut and found itself uninstalled rather quickly? Ever have one that didn't make it through the day you installed it?
