Enough playing video games, Naughty Dog! Get back to work!
The director of the upcoming The Last of Us multiplayer project, Vinit Agarwal, has confirmed that he is still actively working on the game. This statement came as part of a tweet where he mentioned his involvement in the project, providing assurance to fans that the game’s development is ongoing. (Now that he’s fully beaten Super Mario Wonder, that is.)
I did it! Wow that was hard, easily 300+ Marios dead in the process.

And so this tweet can live on in peace… yes, I’m still working on that game. pic.twitter.com/a5Avx9Xl8H
Earlier this year, Sony reportedly scaled back the scope of The Last of Us multiplayer game following an evaluation by both Sony and Bungie (which had just recently been acquired at that point). The reduction in the project's size was partly due to feedback from Bungie regarding its quality and long-term engagement potential.
While the game hasn't been officially canceled, rumor has it that it was due to concerns about its potential success; with plans to incorporate its best aspects into The Last Of Us Part III to maintain the studio's reputation.
