MMOBOMB
Jun 19, 2024
No more waiting around for a launch date. Having previously been delayed out of their original 2023 potential release, NCSoft and Amazon Games will release Throne and Liberty on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on September 17th. An open beta on all platforms will take place next month on July 18th. Running until July 23rd, the open beta will be the first wide-scale chance for gamers to check out the MMORPG. It will also already include cross-platform play.
In an announcement released today, Merv Lee Kwai, Head of Third Party Publishing at Amazon Games, said, "“We can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on, and invite you to experience it all for yourself when the game launches this September.”
To celebrate the launch announcement, the F2P MMO also dropped a brand new trailer that gives you a rundown of what to expect. Showing of PvP castle sieges, transforming into animals to assist with traversal of the open world, and some visually cool boss battles, the video is a nice way to catch up if Throne and Liberty dropped off of your radar for a while.
You can get even more information on specific game features and their development from a newly posted interview with the NCSoft team. The official page also includes an FAQ regarding the open beta.
