Dead by Daylight fans have a lot to look forward to when the horror game’s next update lands. This is the first major update of the year, and it seems the devs have been working on a lot of different things – ranging from trying to adjust playtime by updating how generator damage and regression to Killer changes, and more.
The generators take up a good portion of the dev post as they explain how the changes will apply to 3 generator scenarios where the killer is defending three generators close by rather than participating in normal gameplay. The update also addresses “gen tapping” in which players only work on a generator briefly in order to stop it regressing. Now, players are required to repair a certain percentage of the generator’s charges in order to stop regression – meaning they’ll have to be there longer.
Another important feature of the upcoming update is the addition of a field-of-view slider. Killers in first-person view will now be able to adjust their FOV. That’s great news for those who may have adverse physical reactions to first-person gameplay. Yes, this will affect perks that alter the FOV, although we won’t know exactly how until later.
As far as characters go, The Onryo, The Hillbilly, and The Blight are all getting some love. Perks are being updated as well, as is the Ormond Resort. You can read about all the changes in detail in the dev post as the updates hit the PTR tomorrow.
