The first update of the year for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide has been announced.
The Path of Redemption Update, set for release later this month, introduces the revamped penance system and a progression track with over 40 tiers where players can accumulate penance points to unlock new insignias, portrait frames, emotes, poses, weapon trinkets, and cosmetics.
The shooter's players are offered different goals across combat, mission, class, talent, and ability. These missions are designed to be more engaging and less grind-focused, incorporating new puzzles, challenges, and collectibles scattered throughout the game. The update also includes improvements to the penance UI and menu, allowing players to better track their progress and easily access information related to their penances.
The update brings forth new elements such as the Personality Scourge, allowing players to customize more aspects of their operative in exchange for ordo dockets, and the inclusion of titles as a new type of reward. These titles allow players to show off their achievements to others.
Hestia, now positioned across from Sire Melk's Requisitorium, serves as the main NPC for players' penances, providing guidance and oversight on their journey along the Path of Redemption.
