MMOBOMB
Jan 10, 2025
World of Warcraft went ahead and made the 20th anniversary of the MMORPG an entire patch cycle, so we have all been somewhat curious to see what Activision Blizzard would be planning for the Warcraft IP's 30th anniversary. Given the company opted out of a recent BlizzCon in favor of a Direct stream, we weren't sure what to expect.
Live meetings are back on the menu, though, as Blizzard revealed 6 meetups happening all over the globe to celebrate. The first event is happening next month, February, in London with 4 additional gatherings planned throughout subsequent months in Seoul, Toronto, Sydney, São Paulo, and a final sixth event in Boston during PAX East in May.
While we will have to wait for full event schedules and dates, it is probably worth keeping an eye on your Warcraft social channel of choice since the team is describing these events as "intimate." In this case, that likely means they're smaller than you may think. Livestreams, dev meet and greets, and special events will take place, but tickets will be very limited. Since the tickets are also free, you'll have to act fast when the time comes if you'd like to attend.
There's an official site for the event that you can follow, but right now there aren't any details for each location besides the location city. Stay tuned.
