MMOBOMB

First off, no, "Project Pantheon" will not be the final name of the new title coming from Wolcen Studio. Mercifully. MMO followers searching for yet another game called "Pantheon" would get annoying. The next creation from the team behind APRG Wolcen will eventually get a new name. In fact, the team says it is already being teased in a few hidden references in the mateirals the team released. Hell, the game's official site is "Play GDR," so there may be one hint already.
While Wolcen itself follows very much in the typical APRG style of Diablo or Path of Exile, Project Pantheon will be a F2P PvPvE extraction game...or as the team calls it, it's an "ExtrAction RPG."
In Project Pantheon, you'll be assisting Death themselves to restore the natural order of things in a dark fantasy world dominated by fantasy versions of historical myths. As for gameplay, the initial descriptions are very extraction-based. Hit the map, explore and take out enemies and other players, extract with your loot and use it to upgrade your base and loadouts. Don't die as you could lose everything. Project Pantheon will also feature a player economy allowing you to sell or trade certain items to other players.
While the title has been in production for over a year, the team describes it as being in "alpha" which, according to their FAQ, means they view the game as working on achieving "feature completeness." Alpha tests are already scheduled in Europe and North America on January 25th and February 1st, respectively.
You can register for test and get news on the official site to see exactly what will be in the alpha tests. I just hope it gets a bit more testing than Wolcen did when I first got my hands on it.
