Dungeons & Dragons is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Yes, for five decades, players have been having wild and somewhat questionable adventures with their friends in both tabletop and MMORPG forms. It’s a pretty big deal and something to celebrate, so publisher Daybreak is doing just that, across their library of games – including Dungeons & Dragons Online, of course.
DDO will offer players the Draconic Raider’s Reward Box for a limited time. This item can be obtained via the Eberron Hall of Heroes and players can choose from a selection of dragon-themed legendary raid items, cosmetics, and more. The box is available between August 28 and September 24.
EverQuest joins in the celebration by offering players a bonus giveaway item, the Pedestal of Veeshan dragon statue. A limited-edition item, the Owlbear Polymorph Wand, is also for sale in the marketplace. These are both available now but will be gone on September 1.
EverQuest 2 players, on the other hand, will receive a different dragon item, the Darathar Dragon Statue, free on the marketplace. As with EverQuest, there will also be a limited-edition item available, the Baby Dragon Petamorph Wand. These too will be gone on September 1.
To celebrate DDO in The Lord of the Rings Online, Daybreak is introducing the new “Dragon and the Storm” instance, featuring several dragon-themed rewards. Players can also claim a free Green Drake Portrait Frame and a Golden Drakeling pet using the code “SMAUGSSPOILS”. Just be sure to do that before September 12, when the code expires.
Finally, DC Universe Online players will receive a free pair of Archdragon Horns for their character. Matching wings and an Archdragon Hatchling are available by trading in currency from “Brainiac Returns!” through September 9.
