MMOBOMB
Nov 09, 2023
Not too long ago, Netease announced a partnership with Fantastic Pixel Castle – a new developer led by former World of Warcraft and League of Legends dev, Greg "Ghostcrawler" Street. At the same time, they announced the studio’s first project codenamed Ghost, and promised more details in a stream. Yesterday, that stream took place, offering players a general overview of the MMO as well as answering questions from a Reddit AMA.
The stream, which is a bit over an hour long, started out with an overview of what Ghost will be. The important part, discussed in the most detail, is what Street refers to as "Shards." These aren’t individual servers, but the way in which the game’s world is broken up. The world of Ghost has Red Shards and Blue Shards. Red Shards are theme park-like and where players will meet each other. Blue Shards are private, and everything that happens on them is permanent. That includes things like depleting nodes. The trick is that players will need to play on both types of shards in order to really benefit from the game’s design.
The rest of the video focuses on answering questions and covers topics like tanks, classes, addons, combat type, server and controller support, and so much more. Check out the list in the video description on YouTube to literally jump right to the individual questions you want to see. Every single one is individually timestamped.
