Visionary Realms, the developers behind Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen, hosted a Q&A with the community last night.
Present was Chris Perkins, David Beach, and Jamie Henry, who addressed various topics raised by fans. Notably, Alpha pledges won't be allowed to capture and submit screenshots or recordings for approval at this time. The focus for the initial game sessions is on letting players enjoy the MMORPG experience without interruptions, with no plans for monthly test sessions.
They also discussed design goals for the game's launch, which include the intricacies of out-of-combat regeneration mechanics as well as emphasizing a balance between percentage-based and flat value effects for different abilities. Other topics covered range from crafting skill requirements and the distinct silhouettes of races to dungeon design, rogue traps, crafting quality, and the uncertain timeline for introducing an auction house. The conversation also covered class abilities, including plans for monks and their states on targets.
Visionary Realms expressed a commitment to maintaining challenge, mystery, and preventing excessive min-maxing by players.
